McColl Center for Art + Innovation’s Artist-in-Residence and Affiliate Artist programs are dedicated to supporting artists regionally, nationally and internationally and promoting contemporary art. Fusing a regional character with a national and international perspective, the Center is a place where artists work, conduct research and where exhibitions introduce a variety of contemporary art and social practices. The Center’s goal is to present art and artists in a way that engages and enriches the community, through the creative process during open studios, engagement initiatives, exhibitions and educational programs.

DutchCulture|TransArtists is the platform stimulating and strengthening artists' mobility in the Netherlands and internationally. We combine and share expertise, and we offer tools and services on artist-in-residence programs and related issues.

Here you can find all about facts, use and value of international AiR programs as well as other cultural opportunities for artists to stay and work elsewhere.

The starting point of our work is the artists' perspective. We usually cooperate with a wide range of partners in all world regions, increasingly more in depth within European countries. Our goal is to make the enormous worldwide residential art labyrinth accessible and usable to the artists, through our website, AiR collection, research and workshop programs.

We form the TransArtists desk within DutchCulture - Center for International Cooperation, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

We are an association of over 490 centers, organisations, and individuals in over 70 countries. Each of our members is dedicated to offering artists, curators, and all manner of creative people the essential time and place away from the pressures and habits of every-day life, an experience framed within a unique geographic and cultural context.

The Location One International Residency Program’s unique structure allows emerging and mid-career artists to interact and converse with more established artists who are at the top of their career. This sort of discourse is at the heart of Location One’s philosophy of experimentation and collaboration.

Unlike most other residency programs there is no direct application process; artists are selected by our partner foundations and arts organizations who directly sponsor artists from their home countries. When logistically and financially possible, American artists are invited to participate and are proposed by Location One’s curatorial team.
